Scottish Highland Games Hammer Thrower
New from the Studios of raybrowndesign.com
No one can say for sure how the traditional Highland Games arose, but we can surmise that they developed over time from friendly competitions between neighbouring clans. Each event no doubt fiercely contested, for with each victory or defeat rested the honour of the clan.
From these humble traditions has arisen an event which spans the globe, attracting visitors and competitors in huge numbers the world over.
We are pleased to release the Hammer Thrower, the first sculpture in our Hightland Games series, each statuette depicting one of the disciplines in the Highland Games. To complement the Hammer Thrower we shall soon be releasing companion statuettes which are the Shot Putter, Caber Tosser, and Highland Dancers - male and female. The Caber Tosser will also be available as an interesting desktop light.
