"Morning Glory" New from the Studios of raybrowndesign.com.
A worldwide limited edition of only 50 'hot' bronze castings, featuring a lifesize rendition of a 17th Century Samurai Warrior of the Otowara Clan. This piece is based on an original helmet in the possession of the Tower of London Armouries.
Each one is individually created using the lost wax process utilising
traditions traversing four millennia. A minimum of 20 kilos of molten
bronze is used for each casting poured at a temperature in excess of 3000
degrees. The mould is left to cool for a few days before the arduous task
of breaking the seal in order to reveal the casting in its raw state. Once
cleaned the casting is skillfully fettled and polished before the final
application of the patination. This patination is achieved by the use of
various acids and salts applied under heat to create the desired effect. We
use the green verdigris finish. However each sculpture is unique and
colours may differ slightly from the photographs depicted.
Every sculpture arrives with a signed and numbered certificate of
authenticity from the artist, in addition to a short history of the piece
and its historical perspective.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Please note these are genuine 'hotı bronze castings
not to be confused with cold cure bronze or cold painted bronze, which are
in fact plastic resin with a bronze paint coating.
